TS Scientist

Summary:

Position is based in Bridgewater, NJ. Key responsibilities include: 1) Acting as the primary contact for assigned customer accounts, retaining the current business and positive customer relationships. 2) Actively developing business at existing and new accounts to support high levels of business growth. 3) Providing technical service and support for assigned customers, including detailed chemistry/end-use application based product recommendations and problem solving. 4) Justifying and prioritizing customer projects, identifying projects that have a higher probability of success, driving and tracking progress of key opportunities against plans and managing resources to meet timelines agreed with customers. 5) Exploring new technology platforms for pressure sensitive adhesives using knowledge of industry, applications, and customers.

Description:

1) Provide dedicated technical support for key Pressure Sensitive Adhesive accounts via face to face meetings, presentations, and written reports.
2) Develop and maintain comprehensive account strategies for customer accounts.
3) Recommend PSA products for customer applications.
4) Trouble-shoot customer problems and complaints.
5) Manage/drive multiple customer projects as well as global development projects for key markets.
6) Attend customer trials when necessary to provide coating/drying support.
7) Lead cross-functional teams/projects within the organization, with customers and suppliers.
8) Manage complex customer projects using Stage Gate Process.


Minimum Requirements:
1) phD in Chemistry or Polymer Science/Engineering or Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemistry or Polymer Science/Engineering with extensive industry experience.
2) 5 - 10 years experience in the Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Industry and working knowledge of coating technologies used.
3) Experience working with customers in a Technical Service or Development function
4) Industry experience in tapes, graphics, and label markets and solid understanding of the primary requirements for the end-use applications.
5) Extensive understanding of organic chemistry and polymer synthesis, effects on product properties, and analytical techniques used for polymer characterization.
6) Experience in troubleshooting complex/difficult problems.
7) Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8) Excellent project management and organization skills.
9) Must be willing to travel up to 30% of time, may include limited international travel.
10) Must be flexible to work overtime as needed.
11) Some experience with people management a plus
